August 2024: Supporting the Kentucky Racetrack Chaplaincy

View our Amazon Wishlist to purchase items and have them delivered directly to LCR.

Each month, LCR's Outreach Tangible Goods Program collects supplies to distribute to people in need.

This *August 1 - 18*, we're collecting cans of soup and pasta with meat to support local racetrack workers.

We hope to collect:
  • Canned soup - greatest need
    • Minestrone, vegetable beef, or chicken noodle preferred.
    • 300 cans or microwave containers needed.
  • Canned pasta with meat
    • Ravioli, spaghetti with meat sauce, or lasagna.
    • 100 cans needed.

Please place items in the bin by LCR's coat closet. You can also purchase items from LCR's Amazon Wishlist and have them delivered directly to the church.

Help Support Racetrack Workers

Many racetrack workers struggle with food insufficiency, often coming from homelessness or having recently immigrated to the U.S. Learn more about the challenges of racetrack life.

LCR’s World Hunger Task Force is partnering with local churches and IPM Food Pantry to support the Kentucky Racetrack Chaplaincy in its ministry to racetrack workers.

Volunteers Needed

We need five volunteers for each timeslot to help assemble and distribute boxes of food.

Spanish speakers are especially encouraged to help distribute food at Belterra on Sat., Aug. 23.
