We invite you to join us for worship this weekend, January 23 (5:30 p.m.) and 24 (8 & 9:30 a.m.), as we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and pray for justice.

Each January, many communities celebrate their LGBTQIA+ welcome the last Sunday of the month. The theme for RIC Sunday 2024 is Roll Down Justice.

As a refresher, Reconciling in Christ (RIC) is an ELCA program for Lutheran communities that publicly welcomes the LGBTQIA+ community.

Being an RIC community, we believe all are created whole in the image of God whose light shines in us to be welcoming and welcomed at LCR.

LCR is among the first ELCA congregations in Cincinnati and the entire Southern Ohio Synod to obtain the RIC designation (July 12, 2020). We represent to LGBTQIA+ seekers that LCR is a safe, welcoming church.

The worship service celebrating the 50th Anniversary of ReconcilingWorks is inspired by Amos 5:24, "Let justice flow like a river, and righteousness flow like an unfailing stream."

The first reading for RIC weekend is from the prophet Amos whose message is that God calls us to let “justice roll down like waters.”

Amos 5:21-24 turns our minds and hearts in prayer toward injustice and turmoil in our world. The second reading from Romans 8:31-39 focuses on a world that seems obsessed with who is “right and wrong,” “good or bad,” “in or out,” or on “this side or that side.”

It is a radical endeavor to name each person as a “Child of God” – no matter what.

RIC Sunday is an annual worship celebration created to share in the commitment ReconcilingWorks and partnering faith communities have in the ongoing work of welcome, inclusion, celebration and advocacy for LGBTQIA+ people in the life of the church.

LCR is among 1,050+ partners across the United States and Canada to participate in our own unique celebratory service. Come join us this weekend!

Everyone is different. Everyone belongs.
